MindMeister 6.5 for iOS Is Out Now!

This post was updated on July 13, 2017.

Good news for our lovely iOS users: MindMeister 6.5 just hit the App Store and brings lots of cool new features and improvements to our mobile mind mapping app. Here’s a quick overview of what awaits you:

MindMeister and MeisterTask Split Screen on iPad

iOS 9 Compatibility

If you haven’t upgraded your device to iOS 9, now’s a good time to do it! MindMeister is now fully compatible with this latest update to Apple’s OS, so you can take full advantage of its benefits. Read more about iOS 9 on Apple.com.

Split View Multitasking

Split Screen is an iPad-specific feature which allows you to run two apps side by side. This means that you can now run MindMeister and MeisterTask right next to each other, for instance to compare a strategy mind map with its project counterpart.

Please note that Split View is currently only available for the iPad Pro, iPad Mini 4 and iPad Air 2.

3D Touch on Home Screen

The new iPhone 6s senses how much pressure you apply to its display, which creates a number of new possibilities for you to interact with your apps. Using 3D Touch on MindMeister’s icon on your home screen now produces a menu with three options: Search (for a mind map in your account), send a Geistesblitz (to your default map) and create a new Mind Map. Check out this video to see the shortcuts in action.

Peek & Pop in Map Listing

The Peek and Pop feature lets you preview content and act on it without having to actually open it. You can use Peek & Pop in MindMeister’s map listing to quickly preview a mind map and add it to your favorites or delete it. Here’s a short video that demonstrates how it works.

Systemwide Core Spotlight Search

As you probably know, swiping down on your iPhone’s home screen brings up Search. With iOS 9 the search functionality was improved and expanded, so that you can now also search for content within your apps, such as mind maps. As long as you know at least one word from the title of your map, there’s no more need to open the MindMeister app first!

iPhone 6+ Mode (Split View)

Small but nice: Going into landscape mode with your iPhone 6+ automatically enables a type of split view in MindMeister so you can see your map listing on the left and the content of your maps on the right, just like in your iPad.
