Our lastest update introduces three of the most requested features for MeisterTask: You can now edit comments, hide task activity streams to only show conversations, and order tasks inside of sections based on name, due date, tags, assignee and creation date!
Ordering Tasks in Sections
Many of you have asked for a way to quickly order tasks within individual sections of your projects, and we’re happy to say that this is now possible! With a few clicks you can quickly order tasks based on one of the following properties:
- Task name
- Due date
- Creation Date
To sort tasks, just hover of the section header until the little triangle appears. In the popover, click on More (represented by the three gray dots) and select Order by… from the list.
Please note: Manual changes to the order of tasks override the order you select in this dialog. This also means that new tasks added to the section later on are not automatically sorted according to the order you’ve selected.
Have you ever left a comment on a task and realized the next moment that you misspelt a word or forgot to add an important link? Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us. The good news is that you can now easily edit your comments after the fact. To do this, simply hover over the comment and click on the little triangle that appears on the right side, then select Edit from the menu.
Please Note: Watchers receive notifications about new comments as soon as they are posted, so even if you edit your comment quickly, others might see what you originally wrote.
Hiding Task Activity
MeisterTask saves the entire change history of a task inside its activity stream, which ensures accountability and transparency. But oftentimes, you’re not interested in every little change and update made, but only in the conversation that has taken place. For those times, you can now easily hide the entire activity, leaving only comments on display!
We hope you enjoy these new enhancements in MeisterTask. In case you missed it, we also recently released version 1.2.7 of our beautiful Mac App and launched an integration with the popular time tracking tool Harvest, so be sure to check those out, too!
